Creativity/potential gap

I've wondered this before, but if our dreams are so incredible and creative and stimulating, and if our brains can create all these things during our dreams, but we can’t do the same thing when we’re awake, is that because of our conditioning ... our sociological conditioning, and that there is this intense, creative pool available to us, but to the extent of our conditioning we can’t access that pool.

I want to call this like a creativity gap, or a potential gap, the gap between our potential selves versus what we are able to do consciously on a daily basis. (The more we are conditioned, or over-conditioned, the less we can tap into this tremendous, creative pool.)
