Recurring dream of Greeks and an ocean restaurant

Nothing major last night, just a recurring dream of two Greeks I know that wanted me to look at some oceanfront property for a restaurant. The property is unusual in that it is something like a concrete structure that juts out into the water. I had the impression it was something the government made, and then abandoned.

There are other parts to this dream, and it all goes on for a while. The whole thing makes me wonder though: Why do we have recurring dreams? What's the important of seeing that same thing again and again? Is it part of our brain creating neural paths, and as it does, we run past these old channels and stimulate them?
