Where do words and memories in dreams come from?
One dream last night involved an interaction with my father that made me wonder again how the dream state works. We were walking through a park, with other people walking around us, and we were talking about a comedian's sketch about Harry Caray broadcasting the first baseball game. If you like baseball and know your biblical references, it's a very funny sketch.
Dreams with an upset stomach
I've been dealing with a bit of a stomach bug the last few nights, so I haven't been able to do any OBE or even an lucid dreaming stuff. I just wanted to make a few quick notes about one dream this morning.
In the dream I was working for some type of engineering company, and the dream itself was not pleasant at all. But, the things I wanted to note are:
More sucking sounds and lucid dreams
Not much time to write today, but I wanted to note another experience of the "sucking" sounds as I was falling asleep last night, and another very realistic lucid dream.
After the long afternoon nap, I had problems falling asleep last night, and after about an hour of waiting to fall asleep and trying some meditation, the sucking sounds started while I laid propped up against the bean bag chair, and I knew I'd be asleep soon.
Fright night in dreamland
Last night was "fright night" in dreamland. One dream involved me talking to several family members around a dinner table about a Monte Carlo simulation I wrote, and asking them what they thought the answer was. I specifically remember my mom's mother being there (my grandmother, who passed away about 15 years ago).
As I was giving my explanation, my dad (he passed away 16 years ago) more or less burst into the room and asked what we had done. While we were busy talking, someone had stolen things from the other room, including my laptop and other expensive things.
A dream sequence, starting with a vacation
A long series of very real dreams this morning, with several recurring components, as usual.
In the beginning of the dream I am in a bedroom somewhere, and it seems like a vacation that I'm on with other people. ("Vacation" might not be the right word, but a "trip" taken with other people.) I'm laying in bed, in the morning, and a man and a woman in the same room start making out, and I know they will soon be having sex here. (I knew the people, we had just been on this trip together, I just can't remember who they are now that I'm awake.)

Dear dad -- despite our differences those last few years, I wish you were still here. Happy 80th birthday.
Funny dream, ocean dream, old man dying dream
Dream 1 - Funny dream in a car
4:37am ... just had a funny dream ... I'm out in a city street, getting things out of the trunk of a car. I'm supposed to go to a former client's office and do some work late at night. There's water in the trunk, and there are a couple of bare electric wires in the water. Then a phone starts ringing in the trunk, and I think, "Well, I'm not touching anything in there", but after a few moments (and more ringing) I decide it's safe.
A glass iMac, and my mom needs to go away
I had a vivid dream this morning that I was in my bedroom, and my dad walks in and says that they need to take my mother somewhere, to the hospital I think. I’m not going with him, but for some reason he wanted me to know this.
Dream of something like a heart attack
In a dream last night I thought I had been shot in the back of my head ... had some form of heart attack, artery blockage ... my dad was there, lecturing me about my weight ... a doctor said "Why didn't you tell us about the chest pain?", and me saying "I did, I did".
I then woke up to the flushing sensations of taking a drug called Advicor. I take this prescription at night before going to bed, and some times it results in major hot flashes, and this was one of those nights.
Dad driving around construction site
The other dream tonight, and right now it's about 4:25 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29th ...
I'm driving down the road, or I should say my dad is driving, and I'm a passenger in the car. And he keeps driving down this same road, or one or two roads, that are around this new building that's being constructed. It's a small area, a relatively small building.
