Calming phrases before evening meditation or sleep
Through most of my life I've used my thoughts to try to calm myself down before going to sleep at night, and before evening meditations. I thought I'd share some of those phrases here today.
In my teens
When I was in my teens and had too much energy, I'd lay in bed at night, unable to fall asleep, so I'd follow this pattern of thoughts:
Coming back from a deep relaxation
I just came back out of one of those nice meditative experiences where I relax very, very deeply, and when I come out of it, it's just a joy to do something simple, like move a finger, and be amazed that I can move a finger.
Yoga helps me get into these states, both with all the stretching and focus during yoga, as well as the deep relaxation of the corpse pose at the end of a yoga session.
A tremendous night for lucid dreams
Last night was a tremendous night for dreams, and in particular, lucid dreams. At some other time I'll describe the dreams themselves, but right now (for my own sake) I just want to describe the events leading up to the dreams.
I was very tired in the afternoon, so I took off of work early, picked up dinner at an oriental restaurant, ate that dinner around 5 p.m., had a mojito, and was in bed by 7 p.m.
Trying to force an OBE, someone in bed next to me
Took a long drive in the mountains yesterday, wasted some energy, came home and decided to have a beer and two shots of whiskey. Was in bed by 9 p.m., then woke up at 11 p.m. and didn't feel drunk or anything like that.
The subtle body
As much as I can tell, there is another part of being human that most people aren't aware of, and that's this thing I call the energy body, astral body, or second body.
