Improvements to the holodeck
I've intentionally been sleeping a little more than necessary the last three nights, and last night as I laid in bed, I tried to just lay there and relax, but not let myself fall asleep. Every time I felt like I might lose consciousness I changed my position in bed to help stay awake.
Moved my bed
I keep forgetting to mention that the one thing I have done prior to all these new vibration experiences -- three or four separate episodes since the beginning of the year -- was to move my bed.
As I've mentioned before, my neighbors here are very loud, so over the course of a few nights I found an area that seemed to be more quiet at night than the place I was sleeping. I moved my fake-futon over to that area, and I've been sleeping there every night since. I did this a few weeks ago, just after Christmas.
Three more vibration experiences
I just had three more vibration episodes during an afternoon nap. I still did not have an OBE, as I think I've swung the other way in my efforts, and I think I'm trying to force the action too much. However, I did have the very cool "toggling" between different worlds.
The setup
I had a stressful morning, and a nagging headache all day. Around 3pm I finally gave in and decided to rest for a little while. I set up my bean bag, and slept at an inclined angle for the usual 45 minutes or so.
Near vibration/OBE experience in yoga class
Just a quick note here that I came close to having the vibrations start during yoga class tonight when we did the "corpse pose" at the end of class. I could tell they were getting very close to happening, so I kept myself from relaxing any more, moving my arms and head several times.
I would love to be able to do this at the end of every yoga session I do at home (experience the vibrations and have an OBE), but at a class I don't want to freak out the rest of the class members, lol.
More vibrations and an OBE
Last night a friend came over, but by the time she was here I knew a headache was coming on. Rather than take headache medicine, I decided to make lime daiquiris in an attempt to get through the pain. Unfortunately that was a really bad idea, and the headache just kept getting worse, and I was in bed by 10pm. I didn't recover until I woke up in bed pain-free around 3am.
An unintentional New Year's OBE attempt
Wow, a nice way to start the new year, the old-time vibrations and an attempted OBE on Day 1 of the new year -- woot!
The setup
I spent new year's eve alone, so I drank some champagne starting at around 7pm while I called several friends and family members to wish them well. The last call ended around 10:15pm, and after watching a little tv, I was in bed by 11pm. I woke up briefly when I heard the neighbors celebrating the new year, and went right back to sleep.
Unexpected but welcome vibrations
An unexpected yet welcome surprise last night. I was mentally tired after working at least the last seven days in a row, including a long day Saturday, so last night around 9:30pm I put on my headphones, sat in the recliner, and listened to some Monroe recordings, but mostly falling asleep.
A friend learns about sleep paralysis
I just wrote the following text in an email to a friend, in response to a message where he wrote about having a bad stomach cramp as he fell asleep, during which time he was also unable to move his body. Rather than alter my email, I thought I would just include it here verbatim:
Learning of Kundalini Yoga
I finally forced myself to say a little bit about the vibrations to my yoga instructor. (Okay, okay, I admit, I stalked her, following her to her car so I could ask her this privately.) She mentioned that there is this concept in Yoga called Kundalini, and perhaps that's what I'm experiencing.
It's late in the evening, but I'm off to the bookstore one more time, sweatpants and all. :)
Terrific Yoga teacher
If I haven't mentioned it before, I've run into a terrific Yoga teacher here in Louisville. (I've deleted her name here, because I haven't asked for her permission to use it.) She's teaching a beginner's course at the University of Louisville, where they have some extension/outreach programs, and she is awesome.
