Lucid dreams, Inception, and the totem
I felt a little sick this afternoon, so I decided to just take the rest of the day off. This was somewhere around 2pm. So I grabbed a sheet and quickly fell asleep in my reclining chair. Surprisingly, I fell into some lucid dreams, though they weren't lucid at first.
They began with me looking out a window from an apartment, maybe on the second or third story of an apartment building. Based on the streets I'll say I was in a city somewhere. What made me think it was an apartment was that as I turned I saw many of my things set up in the room.
Dead relatives offer advice
I don't want to get into this too much here because some of the things were very personal, but I had a "visit" from some deceased relatives in a lucid dream last night. Before I became fully lucid they came to the front door of a home where I was living, and I welcomed them in. By the time we got to the living room I was quite lucid, and the discussion began.
Around that same time I also referred to some beings as ghosts, and they said they preferred to be called "Fluorescents" (sp). I have no idea what that means, I didn't ask, and at the moment I'm just reporting it.
Let the lucid dreams begin
As I prepare for another surgery this coming Friday, I've been spending more time meditating and listening to TMI recordings, and early last night I had my first lucid dream in several months. The dream was so lucid, in fact, that during the dream I said to myself, "I don't need to check to see if I'm awake, of course I'm awake", lol. Okay, maybe I'm a little rusty.
Most importantly for me, the feeling was great, and it's wonderful to know that I can still do this when I try.
Driving, social activity, and dream activity
One other note about last night's dream sequences: I had about five very active sequences, two of which would be considered lucid, and this makes me wonder, was all this dream activity related to my driving yesterday?
Dream thoughts - continuation, series, always running
Whether it's the increased meditation or something else, the dreams continue to pile up, both lucid and otherwise.
An important note I want to make here is that my dreams seem to have a life of their own. What I mean by that is there is a certain continuity to them. I'll dream Scene 1 one night, and then a night or two later I'll be dreaming a continuation of that dream, Scene 2, 3, or something else. And then in that continuation dream something will happen that sparks my dream memory, and for a moment I'll think, "Oh, that's right, I remember doing X some time ago."
Two days of fun lucid dreams
The last few nights have been fun. I've been drinking a little red wine each night before going to bed, and the last two nights I've slept about 4-5 hours, at which point I feel awake enough to start the new day, presumably sleeping more soundly because of the wine. However, I then lay down, try to fall back to sleep, and also just try to focus on the present moment, and as a result, each morning I've had hours of fun, lucid dreams.
More intense dreams
Wow, another night of intense, very real dreams, often leaving me trying to hold on to reality, including many fun PK dreams. But when the second-to-last dream involved a terrorist plot (transporting some type of weapon or poison through implants in the mouth), and the last dream showed many Facebook posts with only the word "blood", well, I had absolutely no problem getting out of bed this morning.
Sucking sounds, levitating, and PK dreams
Slept on one of the large pillows on the living-room floor last night -- trying to keep my head propped up so it would hurt less -- then moved to the futon when it seemed like my head might explode anyway. As soon as I hit the futon the "sucking" sounds started, like I was being sucked into the dream state or another dimension, while unable to fall asleep immediately.
Three more vibration experiences
I just had three more vibration episodes during an afternoon nap. I still did not have an OBE, as I think I've swung the other way in my efforts, and I think I'm trying to force the action too much. However, I did have the very cool "toggling" between different worlds.
The setup
I had a stressful morning, and a nagging headache all day. Around 3pm I finally gave in and decided to rest for a little while. I set up my bean bag, and slept at an inclined angle for the usual 45 minutes or so.
